Welcome to Lime-stone Rock Lodge

About Us

Lime-stone Rock Masonic Lodge was established in 1822 by Henry Roberts, a designer and portrait artist whose self-portrait still hangs in the lodge today. The Freemasons Lodge first met in the Grammar School in Saint Mary’s Church yard which is now situated in York Street. The Freemasons Lodge in those days consisted of local trades people and is still made up of similar individuals to this day. The lodge meets in the Masonic Rooms above the Conservative Club in Clitheroe on the second Thursday of the months of February, March, April, May, September, October, November, and December.

Reviews

The Masonic Lodge is a hidden gem, steeped in history and surrounded by natural beauty.

The Masonic Lodge offers a unique and memorable experience, preserving the traditions of the past.

A visit to the Masonic Lodge is like stepping back in time, with a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

The Masonic Lodge is a true testament to the craftsmanship and dedication of its members.

On the first Thursday in May Brother Chris Berry was passed to the degree of a Fellowcraft Freemason. Our May meeting is when our past masters of the Lodge demonstrate their skills and Ian Johnson assisted by Wardens Roger Wood and Edward Smillie conducted the ceremony. Chris was helped around the Lodge room by his father Clive assisted by Clive Hartley, David Wood and a special mention to Shaun Ormerod for standing in again at short notice. To finish off the evening we dined at the Swan & Royal Hotel and enjoyed a marvelous spread.

If you're a Freemason and want to visit, please use the contact form below to get straight through to the Secretary Nick Baldwin.
